Nice to Meet you — My name is Valerie…

So it’s about time I officially introduce myself here at terracotta house! My name is Valerie - I am professional creative human and nature enthusiast. I have a serious addiction to estate sale shopping and spend most of my time thinking about table top decor, bed linens or where I will travel next. I believe a home is only happy with many plants and fresh cut flowers and I have been known to host a mean holiday party. I have called Los Angeles my home for the past 9 years with the exception of 2020 - where I have been biding my time in my hometown of Delray Beach, FL. I spent my early twenties interning in fashion photography in NYC and went to university in Liverpool, England - where I spent 4 of the best years of my life. ✨

Professionally I have been working for the past decade as a lifestyle + still-life photographer and creative director. You may know me as my other handle @theeternalchild - where I have been creating and showcasing my work for the past 8 years. Terracotta house has been a dream of mine for a while - a mixture of all things that I love and believe in. A place for me to share my art and curate design driven homewares and botanical products - a place where I can take everything I have learned as an artist and stylist and bring it together to create a way of life that you too can bring into your home.

I am so thrilled that you have joined this community - and can not wait to get to know you more. While this year may be one of the hardest for us all - and is certainly not the best time to start a new company - I truly believe it’s the right time for me. I am so excited to see what terracotta house grows into, as this is just the beginning— as I have lots in store for us!

This photo— while not too recent - is a better depiction of all things I love - fall , Portland + vintage fringe jackets.
